Corporate & PR
Copy is a powerful tool both in online and print media. Choose the right words and you’ll enjoy the rewards of increased sales, customer loyalty and brand awareness. Get it wrong and you might just get the opposite.
I am happy writing about almost anything, but when it comes to fitness and healthy living I know that my passion for the subject shines through my writing in a way that big agencies would struggle to replicate.
My clients wouldn’t keep re-commissioning me if I didn’t consistently get it right.
I provide a range of writing, communications and PR services and am proud to have helped many of Britain’s best-loved brands reach and engage with their target markets.
I am also able to offer social media promotion and training (see Media Consultation).
I can’t disclose very much here, but a few names I am able to check include Nike, The Bodyshop, Wilkinson Sword and the BBC.
Further examples of my corporate clients are:
Organisers of the Great Run series of running events, which includes the world’s most popular half-marathon, the Bupa Great North Run, along with the Great Swim events and Great Cycle. I am employed by Nova on a regular, ongoing basis helping the brand to set the right tone in communicating with hundreds of thousands of runners, walkers, swimmers, and cyclists. I also supply them with website and press release copy and write advertorial features on their mass participation events for magazines and newspapers. Here’s an example of a Nova running event newsletter communication.
I regularly produce articles relating to the services provided by the Fitness and Wellbeing arm of Nuffield Health, the UK’s leading health charity. I am a big fan of the company’s concept in integrated health, fitness and wellbeing, it’s a real privilege to help spread the word about their fantastic work. As a former magazine editor I understand why editors are wary of publishing material that is little more than thinly-veiled advertising copy, so I ensure all my articles are packed with “reader value” along with enthusiastic mentions of my client’s brands. Here’s an example of my work for Nuffield Health published by Worcester Living (both online and print): Keep the Fitness Faith
Big brands are not my only corporate clients. I also take commissions from smaller companies or individuals looking to raise their personal brand profile. I produced the copy for the Southwaite Green eco-cottages website with search engine optimisation in mind. Even when SEO is a priority, it is still essential that copy is compelling and engages the reader (something SEO copywriters often unfortunately miss – we’ve all seen toe-curling examples of that). I believe I achieved that very successfully for Southwaite Green. The site is currently appearing on the first page of Google UK search results on most of their key terms. Take a look.
