 Lottery theme to stop
people putting their balls on the line
30/11/02 Lottery campaign
balls for safe sex
The
government's worried about where 18 - 30 year olds are putting their
bits again. Now they're planning to bust Sexually Transmitted
Infections (STI) with scratch cards.
They're
not special devices for itchy bits, but part of a lottery themed
effort to promote safe sex.
The
cards show a picture of a model and the scratchie parts are her
underwear, which you rub off to find out what you could catch.
Nice.
Targetted at 18 - 30 year olds, the idea is to stop young
adults taking a gamble with their sexual health if they don't
practice safe sex, with the slogan:
"Don't
Play the Sex Lottery - use a condom."
STI's
are on the increase - about one in nine people has caught one at
some time and one of the campaign's main "thrusts" is
that:
"Your
chances of picking up something in the sex lottery are surprisingly
high".
There'll be all the usual TV and radio ads. Plus look out for
the posters, beer mats and, of course, those cheeky scratch cards
coming soon to a pub or club near you.
